At today's meeting (Tuesday, November 15, 2022), we had a presentation from DuCap. DuPage County Area Project, or DuCAP for short, is a private, chartered, Illinois 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. They are not a county agency; they are a non-sectarian, non-political organization of volunteers and trauma-informed staff who develop and sponsor efforts aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency, creating a strong community, and keeping the community’s youth out of trouble. - From the DuCap website at: https://ducap.org/about-us/
The annual holiday dinner flyer is attached. We will have tickets available soon for members. Al had a few trivia questions for us, and Earl held the weekly raffle which included the mystery bag.
We will also induct Michael Guerra into the club on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 as a new member. Paul Keenon of the Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn will do the honors.
Reminder from last week's email bulletin:
- It was decided that we would leave off "live auction" from the flyer and see if any items are received to auction off that are greater in value.
- We will continue to hold the Silent Auction part of the evening as we have in the past.
- You may drop off your donated items to Kandice at the Villa Park Public Library, or to Dr. Saul's office.
- As a reminder, each club member is responsible for purchasing two tickets to the Christmas Dinner & Auction, and donating an item(s) that is valued at $100 or more.
- The Club will also be co-hosting a Trivia Night Fundraiser at Crazy Pour on Thursday, March 16 at 7pm with the Friends of the Villa Park Library. More details to come.
