Good afternoon fellow Rotarians,
 
Here is a brief recap from today's meeting. Announcements included:
 
The 43rd Annual Christmas Dinner & Auction will be held on Tuesday, December 1st from beginning at 6:00pm with a Social Hour and Silent Auction.  Dinner will begin at 7:00pm with a Live Auction. This event will be held at the Diplomat West Banquets, located at 681 W. North Avenue in Elmhurst.  Tickets are $50.00 per person.  Please try to presell the tickets prior to the auction.  To purchase tickets, please contact Karen Hartman at (630) 833-2750 or email her at: karen@kabert.com.
 
As a reminder, each Rotary member is asked to purchase at least two tickets and donate a prize with a minimum value of $100.00 (please feel free to donate multiple prizes as well!).
 
Donated prizes may be brought to the Villa Park Police Department between the hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday only.  Please ask for Kim upon arrival to the Police Department.  Or, you may bring your items to the weekly Rotary meetings to give to Chief Bob. Please bring the donation sheet that lists the description and value of the item.  Both the flyer for the dinner & auction and the donation form are available on the Villa Park Rotary website: http://www.villaparkrotary.org/.
 
Also, tonight (11/3/15) is the second night of the Shoe & Boot Drive, which is held at the Payless Shoe Source store located at 76 E. North Avenue from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The final night will be tomorrow, Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
 
Happy news was shared by several members of the group.  There was no presenter today.

Here is a brief meeting recap from our luncheon meeting:
 
Members in attendance celebrated the perfect attendance records of two members of our club!  Earl Johnson celebrated 37 years and Buzz Janis celebrated 35 years.  Congratulation to you both!
 
President Pavelchik shared the news that members of our club were invited to attend the Rotary Club of Bensenville's Rotary Pub Crawl, which will be held this coming Saturday (October 3) from 6pm-11pm in Downtown Dundee.
 
President Pavelchik also notified members of the club that he would be forwarding some additional emails about other events/activities happening in regards to Rotary.
 
We currently have a social hour planned for Friday, October 9, 2015 at The Vino Cellar - Wine and Craft Beer Bar, located at 141 St. Charles Road in Lombard.  We will be meeting at 6:30pm. Here is more information about The Vino Cellar: http://www.thevinocellar.com/
 
Mike Byron announced that the Villa Park Fire Department will be holding a Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday, October 10th from 12-3pm at Fire Station 81.  More details are available here: http://www.invillapark.com/Calendar.aspx?EID=819&day=21&month=10&year=2015&calType=0
